Introduction:
The process of flow rate and study of valves is a unit consisting of the process control of flow rate and study of valves. The control is done by acting on a pneumatic valve.


Possible exercises by the apparatus:
Demonstration of proportional, integral, and derivative control of apparatus.
Demonstration of open and close loop control.
Demonstration of tuning techniques of controllers.
Demonstration of how to adjust the positioner
Demonstration of Recording a step response
Determining the head losses, flow rate, Kv, Cv and the characteristic curve of a valve.


Technical Parameters:
All components are mounted on a framework of stainless steel with suitable AWG to withstand the load of equipment and all components of equipment. The apparatus is equipped with storage tank with capacity of 31 liters.

A centrifugal pump is installed made up of corrosion-resistant material flow rate Q = 42 liter per minute (l/m) with
head of 11 meter. A compressor is supplied along with female valves of 1⁄4 inches for compressed air with 11 newton cubic meter per hour (Nm3/h) at 6.5 bar. A reduced air filter is installed for compressor line.
▪ The apparatus is equipped with electronic magnetic induction flowmeter range of 0-21 liter per minute (lpm).

▪ A pressure transmitter with range of 0 to 2.0 bar is installed.
▪ The apparatus is equipped with PID controller, all necessary piping, valves, tap water valve with 1⁄2 inches hose
connector and safety control.
▪ A software is included for control and data acquisition.
▪ An electric control valve with by-pass function is installed.
▪ Pneumatic type air to close control valve, with positioner and by-pass function
▪ Pneumatic type air to open control valve, with positioner and by-pass function
Unit is supplied with handbook for experiments.
